The Kosciuszko Run 2012 has been created to commemorate the 172 year anniversary of the discovery of Mount Kosciuszko by Sir Pawel Edmund Strzelecki in 1840. It is a 11km run through Australia’s High Country aimed at promoting a healthy and active lifestyle, whilst showcasing the beauty of the mountain and teaching a new generation about the history of the highest peak in Australia and the life of Tadeusz Kosciuszko.Kosciuszko Picnic will begin with the Kosciuszko Run  2012 at 10.00 am, on Sunday 12 of February 2012.


The ‘Summit Walk’ track will lead competitors across Kosciuszko National Park, NSW in Australia - from the starting line at  Charlotte Pass Ski Resort Kosciuszko Chalet Hotel at 1730 m. to the summit of Mount Kosciuszko 2228 m. The total distance of this Run is 11km.
